Easter Royal Icing Nests

Royal icing nests filled with Lindt Easter treats. Edible fun for the whole family!

You will need:

500g icing sugar, 1/2tsp cream of tartar, 90g egg whites (approx. 3 large eggs worth), balloons and a piping bag.

Step 1

Whip the egg whites and cream of tartar until the eggs are frothy. Gradually add the icing sugar one tablespoon at a time until the icing forms firm peaks.

Step 2

Transfer the icing into a piping bag. Cut a small hole at the end of the bag.

Step 3

Inflate the balloons and place them into glasses to stabilise.

Step 4

Start piping the icing over the balloon.

Step 5

Pick up the balloon and rotate while piping to form more of a cup shape.

Step 6

Let the balloons dry completely - overnight or for several hours until they are dry and hold their shape.

Step 7

Once the royal icing nests are dry, gently deflate and remove the balloons.

Step 8

If you wish, add a little dessicated coconut to the cups, for decoration.

Step 9

Add your chosen Lindt Easter treats to complete the edible decoration. We recommend our Lindt Gold Bunny 50g and Lindor Mini Eggs.
