Warmth but no pain
This chocolate has a good flavour and creates a warm sensation but not the pain that often comes with foods containing chilli. I like this one on its own or in combination with the orange chocolate from the same range.

Interesting product
I tried this chocolate for a change as I was intrigued. I have to say it is very interesting and I would have never though to put chilli in chocolate but this really works. The dark chocolate is great, it's excellent quality and has a great depth of flavour. The chilli although not prominent kicks in at the end and gives a lovely warming feel to the mouth. I only had a couple of pieces at a time as this isn't really the type of chocolate you can eat a lot of. I would recommend to others and would buy again in the future.

Oh dear I don't think it's too sweet! I agree it's more of a milk/dark combination flavour but I like that about it. Lindt is a fabulous chocolatier so I usually find their recipes reliably good.

Great combination
Absolutely love Lindt chocolate, this combination is just great, it has a lovely smooth taste that melts on your tongue, I like to savour piece by piece and suck it to release the chili kick that leaves a hot after taste which is so good, it's not too sweet and it's not too bitter like other brands I've tried. Lindt chocolate is always a big hit in my house and this combination is one of our favourites, we always feel like we are eating a little bit of luxury with Lindt chocolate.

Amazing taste
This certainly gives you a spicy tingle in your mouth. Lovely smooth dark chocolate then the chilli comes through. If you like high percentage cocoa chocolate then you will love this. I enjoyed a piece of this after a meal instead of desert. I also love the way it me;to in your mouth and the flavour stays nice in your mouth. Even if you don’t like chilli this still needs to be tasted as you are missing an excellent chocolate experience.

Not for me
I like a bit of chilli in food. As long as it's tasty and adds to the flavour, rather than just being hot for the sake of it. Unfortunately the chilli wasn't right in this one. It just sunny the back of my throat and stayed there for a weird and uncomfortable amount of time. I gave the majority of it to a guy who loves it, so I guess it's just personal taste. I think it might only be nice for people who REALLY like chilli.

Surprisingly delicious!
I was a little wary about trying this chocolate as I'm not a huge fan of dark chocolate and my partner can't stand spicy food, but I was pleasantly surprised. The heat of the chilli is warming but in no way overpowering and the chocolate itself tastes really creamy and rich - not bitter like some dark chocolates. Overall the combination of the 2 makes for a really comforting warm chocolate - I would definitely recommend!

Lovely taste
This chocolate is wonderful, it is on the dark side and is very rich. It has a premium taste. There is a hint of chilli which makes the chocolate stand out. It is very subtle and not overpowering, it is a surprise combination that tickles the taste buds.
From the outset the packaging gives the impression of a premium product and once opened it doesn't disappoint. Other chocolate tastes bland after having this!

Rather than an intense heat from the chilli that overpowers the chocolate, Lindt Excellence Chilli boasts rich aroma of the dark chocolate followed by the delicate heat of the chilli unfolding in the back of the palate.

This may sound like a modern combination but the Aztecs, Olmecs and Mayans already spiced their valuable cocoa beverages with spices including chillies centuries ago. The key for this is balance. Ideally you don’t want the heat to overtake the flavour of of the cocoa but rather create a gentle spiciness that highlights the attributes in the chocolate.
