I am a huge fan of Lindt chocolate, and this one is one of my favourites. The sweet taste of raspberries with dark chocolate go so well.

Freeze dried fruits work much better than fresh!
I'm not a fan of the Lindt brand, although I'm supposed to be. I am even less of a fan of these diversity experiments where strange flavours like chilli are added, just to make money (yes, Lindt did do that too).
However, I do enjoy freeze-dries fruits as the water on your tongue re-hydrates them, which is where their power comes from (if you've not tried them they are like a mild version of fizzy snapping sweets on your tongue). Dehydrated foodstuffs are often very expensive (think beef jerky), so to have them in chocolate is a treat for me.
As expected, the raspberry flavour makes it through the dark chocolate, making it as the illustration on the cover suggests. Whenever Lindt makes thin bars of chocolate they are forced to dice their flavouring ingredient e.g. nuts, never offering a whole nut of raisin in a single bite. With nuts it will be more about texture, which is where this raspberry version fails, but this bar is about flavour and freeze-dried fruits excel in that category.
The immediate sensation is a tangy raspberry flavour, but kept in check with the 47% cocoa ratio, which makes for a pleasurable balance. The aftermath is more chocolate as the freeze-dried raspberries fade like a firework.
These bars are not as prevalent as they should be, especially for the price. But not too specialist either, so you can get them quite easily, if you get hooked.
There are many other freeze dried fruits to choose from, I would like to see them experiment more with this combination.

Unpleasant
Dark chocolate with raspberry is one of my favourite flavour combinations but I found the aftertaste of this quite unpleasant. I normally really enjoy Lindt's dark chocolate products so was disappointed.

Amazing !
Absolutely delicious !
Just place one square on your tongue and let it melt.
The initial taste of the dark chocolate is gradually mixed with the great raspberry tang.
Highly recommended !

Using freeze dried raspberries provides a stunning, concentrated and rich berry flavour whilst also bringing a delectable crisp texture. Dark chocolate and berry is a great match anyway but this is a truly stunning berry chocolate. Delicious with a red wine.
