Masala Chai is a wonderfully warming tea blend which is ideal for a calming cuppa. We have added our own twist with our beautifully balanced EXCELLENCE Caramel & Sea Salt Dark Chocolate which pairs perfectly with the subtle spice of the tea.
Chocolatier's Tip
You can make this recipe suitable for vegans and dairy-free by using our EXCELLENCE 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate instead of our EXCELLENCE Caramel & Sea Salt. If making for people who follow a gluten free diet, always check the manufacturer's label to ensure your ingredients are free from gluten.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Masala Chai dry tea blend
- 350 ml water
- 4 squares Lindt EXCELLENCE Caramel & Sea Salt Dark Chocolate
- 3 tbsp coconut cream, plus 1 ½ tbsp for topping
Method

Warm the dry tea blend in a medium saucepan on medium heat for about 1 minute, stirring all the time, to release the spiced aroma.

Pour in the water and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Strain into a heat-proof jug.

Warm the coconut cream in a medium saucepan. Add 3 squares of the chocolate and stir until melted.

Pour in the tea and stir thoroughly to combine. Pour into 2 mugs.

Whip the remaining coconut cream with a fork and dollop on top of each mug. Grate the remaining square of chocolate and sprinkle on top.
