Chocolate and Espresso Milkshake

Need something to set you up for the day? Take your morning coffee to new heights with our adult-only milkshake - combining our intense EXCELLENCE 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate with a jolt of espresso and a hint of sweet cinnamon (and it’s vegan-friendly too!). Start your day in style.


Chocolatier’s Tip

You can also use hazelnut milk if you prefer. Our 85%, 90% and 99% are also vegan-friendly so you can increase the cocoa percentage and enjoy a more intense chocolate flavour. If making this recipe for someone following a gluten free diet, always check the manufacturer's label to ensure your ingredients are free from gluten.

  • 710 ml unsweetened almond milk (see Tip)
  • 1 large ripe banana, sliced
  • 4 dates, pitted and roughly chopped
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 shots of espresso, cooled (60 ml or 120 ml strong black coffee)
  • 40 g Lindt EXCELLENCE 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate, finely chopped (see Tip)
  • To serve:
  • Melted Lindt EXCELLENCE 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate (see Tip)
  • Chocolate shavings


Step 1.

Pour the almond milk into a blender. Add the banana, dates, cinnamon and espresso. Blend on high-speed for about 30 seconds or until smooth.

Step 2.

Add the finely chopped chocolate and blend for a further minute or until you have your desired consistency (you may enjoy a few fine chunks of chocolate).

Step 3.

Pour into 2 tall glasses, drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
