Our sustainable sourcing model enables us to trace our cocoa beans right back to their origins. This allows us to support farmers and their communities on the ground according to their specific needs.
High-quality cocoa beans are the heart of our chocolates
We, at Lindt & Sprüngli, take responsibility for every stage: from the selection of the cocoa beans to the production of the finished chocolate products. This means we produce chocolate from 'bean to bar'. We understand that we can only make a true, meaningful, impact on local conditions if we know exactly where our cocoa beans come from, who grew them and how they were produced. That is why we developed our very own sustainability program for cocoa beans – the Lindt & Sprüngli Farming Program.
We pride ourselves on using cocoa beans from our Farming Program in our chocolates. Since 2020, 100% of our cocoa beans are sourced traceable and externally verified by an independent third party. This is a major step toward our target to source all cocoa products (beans, butter, powder) through sustainability programs by 2025.
We Are Committed

We Are Wide-Reaching

Farming Program.
We Are Devoted
We invest over USD 10 million every year into our Farming Program.

Recyclable Packaging
We are trying to strike a balance between visually appealing packaging and quality aspects associated with product protection. We always try to reduce packaging sizes and use recyclable materials wherever possible.
CO2 Reduction
Energy is used in the different production steps for making chocolate, such as heating, cooling, and transport. Greenhouse gas emissions can result from all these processes. We are committed to develop a science-based target for emissions from our entire value chain with a long-term goal to reach net-zero emissions.
